How to Grow Okra

1. When to Plant

The earliest you should plant okra is once your 2-3 weeks past your final frost date for your location OR 3 months before your first frost of the fall/winter season.

2. Where to Plant

Plant in nutrient rich soil that drains well and has been ammended with compost, such as raised beds or large containers. Okra needs full sun of 8hrs.

3. How to Plant

Sow seeds 1" deep every 10"-12" with 12" between rows. 2-4 plants is perfect size for fresh harvests without having to give to okra away to friends and family.

4. When to Harvest

For the best yields, harvest okra when each pod has reached about 2 to 3 inches in length.

5. Best Ways to Eat

My favorite ways to eat okra are: Blended into a smoothie, fresh chopped in a salad, fried and my absolute favorite is roasted in the air fryer till crisp. So good!!!
